Nanbit Terms of Use
Effective 13 October 2026. Nanbit is made by Denver Delorino, an individual developer.
Nanbit is an app for iPhone. You download it from the App Store, and any subscription is bought through Apple. This page says, in plain words, what the free version gives you, what a subscription adds, and who handles the money. The agreement itself is Apple's standard license agreement.
The short version
- Nanbit is free to use, permanently. The free version is not a trial and it does not expire.
- Nanbit Pro is an optional subscription that removes the free limits and adds color themes, more reminders and more widgets.
- Apple takes the payment, not us. We never see your card details.
- To cancel, open the Settings app, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. Canceling never deletes anything you have tracked.
- Your habits and history are on your phone. If you sign in, Nanbit also keeps a backup of them; if you do not, keeping a backup is up to you.
- Nanbit is provided as it is, by one person.
Who these terms are between
Nanbit is made and published by Denver Delorino, an individual developer. "We" and "us" below mean that one person.
The agreement between you and us for using Nanbit is Apple's standard license agreement for apps on the App Store. This page does not replace it and adds nothing to it: it describes how Nanbit works. If the two ever differ, Apple's agreement is the one that applies.
Apple has its own terms covering the App Store itself — downloading apps, paying for them, and refunds. Those are between you and Apple.
The free version, and that it stays free
Nanbit is free to download and free to use. The free version is a permanent tier rather than a trial period: it does not run out, it does not become read-only, and there is no point at which you must pay to go on using what you have already put in.
Free use includes the whole of the daily loop — adding up to five habits, marking them done, streaks, the Today screen, the small Today widget, the daily reminder and one reminder time for each habit, and the calendar of what you have done: every past day and month to look at, and today and the week before it to change.
Nanbit Pro
Nanbit Pro is an optional subscription. It removes the free version's limits and adds color themes, more reminders and more widgets — there is no separate Pro app. It unlocks:
- Unlimited habits, instead of five. A habit you delete no longer counts toward the five, and its past days stay.
- More reminders — up to three times a day for each habit instead of one, and a nudge: one more reminder at a time you choose, which comes only if the habit is still not done.
- Every widget — the medium and large widgets that list today's habits, the Lock Screen widgets, and a widget for one habit you choose, with its streak (iOS 17 or later). On iOS 17 or later you can tick habits right from the Home Screen widgets.
- Color themes — the app in Pine, Arctic, Cobalt, Indigo, Violet, Garnet, Signal, Carbon, Brass, Moss or Spruce instead of steel, and the app's icon in the same colors. If a subscription ends, the app and its icon go back to steel.
- Your full history — changing any past day, where the free version changes today and the week before it; the Year view on History; and on Progress, each habit's earlier months and its Year view.
Nothing you have already made is ever taken away. If a subscription lapses, every habit and every completion stays, every habit can still be edited, and every day of it can still be looked at on History. What the free limits control is what you can add or change from then on (another habit, a day more than a week back, a reminder time after the first, and the views, colors and widgets Nanbit Pro unlocks), never what is already there. A lapsed subscriber holding more than five habits keeps all of them. Each habit's first reminder keeps going; its other reminder times and its nudge stop, and are kept for if you subscribe again.
Payment, and who takes it
Nanbit Pro is sold as a yearly or a monthly subscription. The price you see in the app is the price the App Store reports for your country and currency at that moment; it is not stored in the app, so what is on the screen is what Apple will charge.
- Apple processes the payment. Nanbit does not take payments and never receives your card or bank details.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase — or, if you started a free trial, when that trial ends.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Your subscription is attached to your Apple Account, and buying or restoring one never needs a Nanbit account. That is what lets You → See plans → Restore work on a reinstall or a new iPhone.
Free trials, where they are offered
A free trial is sometimes offered on a plan. Whether you can have one is Apple's decision, not ours — an Apple Account that has used the trial before is shown the same plan without it, and in that case the purchase is charged straight away. Nanbit only advertises a trial when the App Store confirms you are eligible for it.
If you do start a trial, it is free for its stated length and then converts into a paid subscription at the normal price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Canceling in time means you are not charged when it ends, and everything you tracked stays as it is.
Canceling
To cancel, open the Settings app, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions, tap the subscription and tap Cancel Subscription. While you are subscribed, the You tab in Nanbit also has Manage subscription, a link to the App Store's page for it. The subscription lives with Apple rather than with us, so we cannot cancel it on your behalf.
Canceling stops the renewal. It does not delete anything: your habits, your completions and your history are on your phone and are untouched by the state of a subscription.
Refunds
Refunds for an App Store purchase are handled by Apple under Apple's own refund policy, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We have no way to issue a refund for a purchase we never processed. If something has gone wrong, write to us anyway — see below — and we will help where we can.
Your habits, and your backups
Nanbit stores your habits, completions and settings on your iPhone, in the app's own storage. Signing in, with Apple or Google, is optional; if you do, Nanbit backs your habits up to its server so you can restore them, and if you do not, there is no server copy and nothing for us to restore from. Everything that is stored, and everything that leaves the phone, is in the privacy policy.
The practical consequence is worth stating plainly: without signing in, keeping a copy is up to you. If a phone is lost, reset, or has Nanbit removed, we cannot recover what was on it. Your iPhone's own iCloud backup can hold a copy — the privacy policy says what is known — but that copy is between you and Apple, and we cannot reach it. Signing in to back up is Nanbit's own way to keep one.
Nanbit is provided as it is
Nanbit is made by one person and is offered as it is. Reminders are an example worth naming: they are scheduled by your iPhone, and whether one arrives on time depends on your iPhone's settings — a Focus or a Scheduled Summary can hold one back — none of which Nanbit controls or can see.
What is promised about the app, and what we are liable for, is set out in Apple's standard license agreement, and this page sets no terms of its own on either. Nothing here takes away rights your local consumer law gives you.
Nanbit is a habit tracker. It is not medical, clinical or professional advice of any kind, and nothing in it should be treated as such.
We may change, update or stop offering parts of Nanbit. If something you paid for stops being offered, the subscription terms above still apply: you can turn off renewal in the Settings app at any time.
Changes to this page
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. That date is the whole record. There is no notice: Nanbit does not send email, and promising a notice we would not send would be worse than saying so.
